The City of Boston is offering beginner’s lessons for adults who want to learn the game of golf at the William Devine Golf Course in Dorchester beginning Wednesday, May 7, and continuing with sessions monthly through August.
Get Golf Ready is designed to teach adults everything they need to play golf in just a few lessons. Participants will focus on the various golf skills they will use while playing. In addition to learning the basics, they will be guided onto the golf course to put their skills into action in a casual, friendly setting.
Week One begins with an introduction to golf etiquette, putting and chipping basics; Week Two introduces the rules of golf full swing fundamentals; Week Three focuses on full iron swing development with on-course play and etiquette; and Week Four includes full wood swing development, on-course play, and a review of the rules of golf.
The first month-long Get Golf Ready sessions will be held at the William Devine Golf Course Wednesdays on May 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The fee is $85 for Boston residents and $99 for non-residents. Class size is limited. To reserve a spot, payment is required with your application.
