Special events being held in Boston will bring additional activity to local streets this weekend. To ensure safety, the Boston Transportation Department is advising drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike to take extra care to obey the rules of the road. Those coming into the City to attend these events are encouraged to leave their private vehicles at home and take the MBTA.

The Freedom Rally (Hempfest) will be held on the Boston Common. To accommodate the event, “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday” temporary parking restrictions will be implemented on the Public Garden side of Charles Street, from the Center Gate to Beacon Street.
The South Boston Street Fair will be held on East Broadway, from I Street to L Street. To accommodate the event, this section of East Broadway will be closed to vehicular trafic from 8 AM to 6 PM.

Allstate Life Boston 13.1 Marathon will begin at Suffolk Downs at 7:30 AM. An estimated 3,000 runners will proceed along the following route: Tomesello Way, left onto Rt. 1, left onto Waldemar Avenue, right onto Walley Street, right onto Leyden Street, left onto Breed Street, left onto Ashley Street, left onto Bennington Street, right into Belle Isle Marsh Reservation, right onto Bennington Street, right onto State Road, left onto Ocean Avenue, right onto Revere Street, left onto Revere Beach Boulevard, right around Carey Circle, right around Eliot Circle, left onto Revere Beach Boulevard, left onto Revere Street, left onto Ocean Avenue, right onto State Road, left onto Tomasello Way to Suffolk Downs.
