Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Daphne Griffin, Boston’s Chief of Human Services and Executive Director of Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF), are pleased to announce that the BCYF Draper Pool will be renovated and the West Roxbury Educational Complex Pool will be hosting the BCYF Draper Pool staff and many Draper Pool programs during construction.  This is an option for BCYF Draper members in addition to BCYF’s other 14 pools across the city.

Beginning in September, the BCYF Draper Pool will undergo a much needed $3.5 million complete renovation including upgrades to the mechanical systems, pool area and locker rooms as well as the exterior including the parking lot.  The BCYF Draper Pool will close after regular operating hours on Sunday, August 31st and will reopen at the WREC on Wednesday, September 4th.

When the BCYF Draper Pool staff and programming move to the West Roxbury Education Complex Pool, pool memberships will be honored at any of BCYF’s 14 other pools.  The schedule at the West Roxbury Education Complex Pool will be available at the Draper Pool until the move and online at the BCYF website at www.CityofBoston.gov/BCYF.  The phone number and email address remain the same: 617-635-5021, DraperPoolCC@CityofBoston.Gov
