Mayor Thomas M. Menino invites Boston youth to a free, fun filled event during February School Vacation Week.  Jump-start your summer planning at “Boston R.O.C.K. It!!! Launch into Summer” at Emmanuel College’s Yawkey Center, 400 The Fenway, on Wednesday, February 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Organized by Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) the R.O.C.K. It!!! is a high-energy event with music, performances, interactive games, raffle prizes and most importantly--summer resources.  This event will give young people and their families a fun school vacation week event and urge them to think about summer plans now by providing summer information throughout the event and in “goody bags” distributed at the end so their parents or guardians can start enrolling them in summer programming.

Boston residents of all ages are welcome.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  The Yawkey Center is near the corner of Brookline Avenue and The Fenway and is accessible by bus, the Green Line and the Orange Line.

Note: If you are a program or organization that will be hosting programs/events this summer that you would like to highlight, let us know.  We will be putting together resource bags to be given away to youth & families attending this event.  Please bring 1,000 copies of your summer information to BCYF’s Administrative Offices,1483 Tremont Street, Roxbury Crossing ATTN: Meagan by Friday, February 15th at 5pm.
