Even though the school year is right around the corner, Mayor Thomas M. Menino reminds Boston residents there is still plenty of summer left to enjoy and is hosting a variety of outdoor activities filled with family fun for everyone.
A Hike Along the Bussey Brook Watercourse
What: Follow the watercourse of Bussey Brook beginning at Allandale Woods Urban Wild, through the Arnold Arboretum and end at Bussey Brook Urban Wild just as the brook goes underground and starts its path to the Charles River. Along the way, groups guided by staff from the Boston Natural Areas Network and the Boston Conservation Commission, will explore native and non-native plants.
When: TOMORROW! Saturday, August 13
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: 7 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury (Groups will meet in the parking lot near the church)

Mayor Menino’s “SeaBoston”
What: Mayor Menino invites families to Lo Presti Park for activities, music and free food from some of the city’s best food trucks on East Boston’s waterfront. Later in the night, the 2003 kid flick animated hit Finding Nemo will be shown for all to enjoy.

Mayor Menino’s “Neighborhood Performances”
What: Enjoy this free summer concert titled Jazz at the Fort in Roxbury’s Highland Park featuring Tuffus Zimbabwe and The Jazz Urbane.
