Governor Recognizes Boston Firefighters

Governor Deval Patrick on April 1, 2011 presented a Citation to the Boston Fire Department to thank the firefighters for the confined space rescue of an MBTA employee on March 30, 2011. Fire Commissioner Roderick Fraser accepted on behalf of the department during a ceremony at the State House. Over twenty-five firefighters who worked the incident were present.

Also in attendance were members of Boston Fire’s Command Staff, members of the Governor’s Cabinet, Richard Davey, the General Manager of the MBTA, Ed Kelly, the President of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts and Rich Paris, the President of Boston Firefighters Local 718.
