Boston Centers for Youth & Families, the City of Boston's largest youth and human service agency, will hold the fourth annual Citywide Girls Summit tomorrow, Saturday, August 15th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Simmons College's main college building, 300 The Fenway. Over 100 Boston teen girls have pre-registered.
Through interactive workshops, a women's leadership panel, entertainment, and resource tables, girls will gain access to information and resources focused on topics such as sexual identity; self defense; mentoring; healthy relationships; cyber safety and life after high school. Mrs. Angela Menino is expected to stop by at noon.
The Professional Women's Panel will feature a discussion with six women who are leaders in their profession. They are representing careers in politics, the Boston Fire and Police Departments, public health and nutrition.
The Summit is sponsored in conjunction with Simmons College Institute for Leadership and Change: Connecting Simmons to the Community and the Community to Simmons.
