Traffic Advisory - World Series Celebration

The Boston Transportation Department would like to advise drivers that on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 many streets throughout Downtown Boston will be closed to traffic and on-street parking will be restricted due to the Boston Red Sox World Series "Rolling Rally." Baseball fans coming into Boston for the celebration are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.

The parade will start at Noon on Boylston Street at Yawkey Way and will proceed along the following route.

    • Boylston Street

    • Straight on Park Drive/Fenway

    • Straight on Boylston Street

    • Left on Tremont Street

    • Straight on Cambridge Street

    • Ending at New Chardon Street.


Vehicular traffic will be banned from the posted rolling rally route and immediately adjoining cross streets at approximately 10 AM. To protect public safety the Boston Police Department may further restrict parking and vehicular movement during the event.

In addition, temporary parking restrictions will be put into effect at several locations throughout the city and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and/or towed. Enforcement of these regulations will begin at 12:01 AM on October 30, 2007. The temporary restrictions are outlined below.

Van Ness Street, Both sides, from Ipswich Street to Kilmarnock Street

Yawkey Way, Both sides, from Boylston Street to Brookline Avenue

Arlington Street, Both sides, from Beacon Street to Columbus Avenue

Avery Street, Both sides, from Tremont Street to Washington Street

Beacon Street, Both sides, from Somerset Street to Tremont Street

Berkeley Street, Both sides, Columbus Avenue to Commonwealth Avenue

Bowdoin Street, Both sides, from Cambridge Street to Derne Street

Boylston Street, Both sides, from Park Drive to Washington Street, including portions of DCR roadways

Bromfield Street, Both sides, from Tremont Street to Washington Street

Brookline Avenue, Both sides, from Park Drive to Beacon Street (Kenmore Square)
