John Travolta, William H. Macy, Martin Lawrence, Tim Allen and Director Walt Becker Make Donation to BPD

Mayor Thomas M. Menino today joined the stars and director of the new film, Wild Hogs, to honor the Boston Police Department's Mobile Operation Unit. John Travolta, William H. Macy, Martin Lawrence, Tim Allen and director Walt Becker took time from promoting Wild Hogs, a new film about middle-aged friends who decide to take a motorcycle trip, to pay tribute to Boston motorcycle officers.

"It is wonderful to be here with this talented cast and director who have taken time from promoting their film to honor Boston's motorcycle officers. These brave men and women protect our city every day." Mayor Menino said. "I want to thank Wild Hogs for their generous donation to the Boston Police Foundation and Crime Stoppers."

Mayor Menino was joined by Police Commissioner Ed Davis and the Mobile Operations Patrol Unit Deputy Superintendent Thomas Lee to receive the $10,000 donation to the Boston Police Foundation and Crime Stoppers. Mayor Menino proclaimed today "Wild Hogs Day" in the City of Boston. In Wild Hogs, the stars ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and the Boston Police Mobile Operations Unit rides Harley-Davidson Road Kings. The local group, Boston HOG (Harley Owners Group) lined City Hall Plaza for the event.
