Mayor Thomas M. Menino announced this week a large number of activities for students to participate in during next week's school vacation, which runs from Tuesday, February 22nd through Friday, February 25th. The events are sponsored by the Boston Centers for Youth and Families and are located throughout the city's neighborhoods.
"These activities are a great opportunity for the young people of Boston to have fun in a productive way during their school vacations," Mayor Menino said. "There's something for everyone and I encourage all of our young people to take advantage of these opportunities."
Tuesday, February 22
Charlestown - Kent Community Center Youth Connection School Vacation Activities, 10 a.m. start.
Dorchester - Murphy Community Center Movie Day at Randolph, 5-8 p.m.; BCYF Fun & Friendly Basketball Tournament, Grove Hall Community Center, Perkins Community Center; BCYF Girls Softball Clinic, Murphy Community Center, 9 a.m.-noon.
East Boston - BCYF Street Hockey Tournament, Harborside Community Center.
Jamaica Plain - Agassiz Community Center MCAS Boot Camp, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; BCYF Girls Softball Clinics, English High Community Center, 4:30- 7:30 p.m.; BCYF Fun & Friendly Basketball Tournament Hennigan Community Center.
