Boston Police District A1 (Downtown) To Undergo Renovations

The Boston Police Department announced today that major renovations will require the temporary relocation of District A1 (Downtown). Previously located at 40 New Sudbury Street, staff and equipment will relocate to 152 North Street in the North End effective immediately. There will be no disruption to the number of officers or police services. The new location at North Street will not be equipped with booking areas or cellblocks. Male prisoners arrested in the District A1 and A15 area will be booked at District C6 located at 101 West Broadway. Female Prisoners will be transported, booked and house at District D4 located at 650 Harrison Ave in the South End.
Renovations are expected to take one year. During this time, the district station at 40 New Sudbury Street will be vacant with the exception of construction crews.
Citizens should continue to utilize 911 to request assistance in an emergency.
