The Boston Transportation Department is expecting a slow evening commute out of the City tonight due to heavy snowfall starting this afternoon that is expected to last through the rush hour.  Drivers are cautioned to watch for pedestrians crossing.  Pedestrians are urged to cross in crosswalks, wait for the “Walk” indication to come on at traffic signals before crossing and protect themselves by watching for oncoming vehicles.

Drivers who are able to leave early are encouraged to do so as staggering the number of vehicles traveling on local streets will ease traffic congestion and increase public safety in the City during this storm.
