Mayor Thomas M. Menino today released a video personally thanking all of the Boston Marathon volunteers and the City’s first responders for making Marathon Weekend in Boston a success.

“Hello, I’m Mayor Tom Menino.
Today I wanted to take a moment to recognize all those that helped make this past weekend in Boston a huge success.
From the Volunteers along The Marathon Route to our city’s own First Responders – police, fire and most of all our EMS personnel – The City is proud of your service and applaud your dedication to the safety and well-being of all those who enjoyed our city this weekend.
The runners and spectators sometimes don’t know the hard work that goes into planning such a big weekend of events – but I sure do.
Congratulations to you all for doing a great job.”
