Mayor Menino Honors Winners of City’s Photo Contest
Mayor Thomas. M. Menino today celebrated the winning photographers of the CityofBoston.gov Photo Contest at a reception at Boston’s City Hall. Winning photographs include 20 city residents, six college students and four city employees.
“I wanted to have more residents involved in the shaping and design of our new website. And this photo contest was a great way to show off the artistic talent we have throughout the city,” Mayor Menino said. “I am particularly proud of the significant turnout.”
The Web Team created a photo contest to generate interest in the city’s new website at CityofBoston.gov. The call to residents and visitors, professional and amateur photographers of all ages asked for photos that conveyed the unique beauty and character of Boston. Photographs were judged by a panel comprised of representatives from various city departments including Management Information Services, the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events, the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, Mayor’s Public Information Office, and the Mayor’s Youthline.
