Drugs, Guns, Ammunition, Weapons ……and Arrests Friday afternoon at about 3:45pm, officers at 416 Talbot Ave., Dorchester were conducting a threshold inquiry of Anthony Lewis, 21, of Dorchester. The officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the address. Further investigation revealed, in plain view, a class D (Marijuana) substance. Lewis was placed under arrest while officers applied for a search warrant for the residence. At about 6:50pm, officer executed a Dorchester District Court Search Warrant and recovered the following items: Mac 11 Machine gun type firearm, one loaded magazine, a box of ammunition, numerous bags of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Lewis will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court and charged with possession class D, possession with intent to distribute class D, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number. The incident also occurred with in 1000' of the Codman Academy Charter School. Additional charges will be sought. On Saturday afternoon at about 2:14pm, officers from District 7 (East Boston) working at Suffolk Downs prior to the Reggae Festival observed a passenger in a motor vehicle rolling and smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette. Officers approached the vehicle and detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Officers observed a plastic bag of marijuana in the front seat of the vehicle. The operator of the car, Blanche Carter, 26, of Mattapan, failed to produce a driver's license for the officers after they requested it. The officer observed her license on the front seat of the vehicle along with a .22 caliber firearm. The driver was arrested and charged with: unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession class D substance. The passenger, Kesa Pittman, 25, of Dorchester was arrested for: possession class D substance, and various warrants. The passenger in the rear of the vehicle, Guilanie Ede, 23, of Dorchester was placed under arrest and charge with disorderly conduct. All three will be arraigned in East Boston District Court. Saturday night at about 6:56pm, officers from District 3 responded to 557 Norfolk St. in Mattapan after receiving information that there were firearms inside the residence. On arrival, officers were required to make a forced entry where they found the suspect, Toren Robeson, (AKA Roberson) 28, of Mattapan attempting to flee from the house. Officers were able to secure him on a second floor porch. While other officers discovered a black semi automatic firearm along with a shotgun in the suspects apartment. Robeson, was placed under arrest and charged with: possession of a shot gun, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number, and unlawful possession of ammunition. At about 10:15pm, officers executed a Dorchester District Court warrant at 557 Norfolk St where a .22 caliber firearm and numerous rounds of ammunition where recovered. Additional charged will be sought for Robeson. He will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. At about 7:40pm on Saturday night, officers assigned to District 15, (Charlestown) responded to 65 Tibbetts Town Way on a report of paint ball shots being fired. On arrival, officers spoke with a witness and a 9, 10, and 12 year-old victim's. All of the victim's and witness report that Mark Matarazzo, 22, of Charlestown was shooting them with paintballs as they were playing in the Courtyard. Officers arrested Mattarazzo and recovered a black, paint ball gun, with paintballs in the magazine. He will be arraigned in Charlestown District court and charged with: assault by means of a dangerous weapon. At 7:52pm on Saturday night, Officers assigned to District 3 were patrolling on Harvard St. and Franklin Hill Ave in Dorchester. Officers observed Dana Griffith, 22, of Dorchester wearing what appeared to be some type of body armor. Officers approached Griffith in an attempt to conduct a threshold inquiry. On seeing the officers exit their marked cruiser, Griffith fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, the officers stopped Griffith at 911 Blue Hill Ave. After a pat frisk, officer discovered a .380 semi- automatic firearm on the suspect. He was placed under arrest and will be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. He will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. On Sunday morning at about 3:07am, officers assigned to District 7, (East Boston) observed Joseph Hines, 55, of East Boston riding a bicycle in the area of 72 Trenton St. The bicycle frame had been sawed where a lock would have been located. The officers stopped Hines to investigate him and the bicycle. While conducting a pat frisk of Hines he ignored officers commands and retrieved a black stun gun from his rear pocket. The officers struggled with Hines as he attempted to activate the stun gun. He was placed under arrest for unlawful possession of an electronic device and receiving stolen property (bicycle). The suspect will be arraigned in East Boston Court. At about 4:20am, today's date, officers assigned to District 13, (Jamaica Plain) observed a motor vehicle leaning against the island at 343 Pond St. Further investigation revealed that the operator was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest without incident. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded .38 caliber firearm reported stolen by the ATF. The suspect was transported to District 13 where he was found to be in possession of heroin, cocaine and marijuana. Teddy Bernadel, 35, of Brockton will be arraigned at West Roxbury District Court and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, possession with intent to distribute class A within 1000' of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute class B within 1000' of a school zone, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and other violations of the auto laws. --30--
