Thank you, Boston! Mayor Menino declares Boston Shines 2009 a success with approximately 6,000 people volunteering to make the city shine. Volunteers helped beautify the city from neighborhood clean ups to planting of flowers. This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors & partners along with the thousands of volunteers. The Mayor would like to thank all the volunteers, neighborhood groups and corporate sponsors for supporting this great effort.
The two day event was transformative with every part of the city teaming with volunteers taking part in making their neighborhood shine. We saw volunteers of all ages showing their community spirit and pride. Boston Shines is an opportunity to meet and mingle with your neighbors as well as making a difference in your community.
