Mayor Cuts Ribbons for Five Hyde Park Main Streets Businesses
On August 15, Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Department of Neighborhood Development Director Evelyn Friedman cut ribbons and presented checks to five businesses in Hyde Park. The businesses - Pure Joy flowers, and four restaurants: Konteki Kitchen, The Hyde, Rincon Caribeno Restaurant, and Mexico Lindo - received storefront design assistance from OBD.

Konteki Kitchen
Lebert and Carol Johnson recently opened the Konteki Kitchen, a Jamaican jerk chicken restaurant in the space formerly occupied by the Blue Waves Fish Market.

Mexico Lindo

Rincon Caribeano Kitchen ribbon cutting
The Rincon Caribeno Kitchen and Mexico Lindo owned by Javier Diaz are located in the Way Building that was destroyed by fire in January of 2008. Javier has completely renovated the two storefronts.
The Hyde ribbon cutting
Brian Roskow purchased The Hyde, formerly Dotties Deli, an anchor in Logan Square and has transformed the vacant deli into a full-service restaurant.
