City of Boston Licensing Board
The Board issues and regulates alcohol, food, hotels/inns, lodging houses, fraternities/dormitories, billiards/pool tables/sippio, bowling alleys, and fortune teller licenses within the City of Boston. All of the aforementioned licenses are regulated by the Board pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapters 138 and 140, and the Rules of the Board.

Non-Alcohol Related Licenses
When applying for a license that does not involve alcohol, any form which needs to accompany your application will be listed on the instructions of that application. Generally, when you click on the link to download the application, all forms which need to accompany your application should automatically download. Please read and follow the instructions as there may be steps that must be taken prior to the Board being able to take action on an application. Please also note that additional copies of the forms can be found individually listed on the Other Board Forms section of the Forms & Applications page. Alcohol licenses are issued after you receive approval from this Board and the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (“ABCC”). You will find the link(s) to all the forms necessary to apply for an alcohol license or changes to an alcohol license on our Forms & Applications
