Story Mobile
For six weeks each summer ReadBoston’s Storymobiles travel to summer programs throughout the city providing children with free books and captivating stories told by professional storytellers. During the summer of 2007 the Storymobile served 100 sites and 28,000 children. The goal of the program is to expose children to storytelling, a powerful literacy strategy, and to encourage programs to incorporate additional literacy activities, providing opportunities for learning when children are away from the classroom and can experience an academic slide.
