- I am an abutter to a construction project identified on the
"code compliant" list above, why wasn't I notified directly?
No community notification is required when a permit application and plans are code compliant. In these cases, the permit is issued and the applicant can proceed immediately as per the approved plans.
- Can I appeal ISD's determination that a permit application is
"code compliant"?
Determinations of the Inspectional Services Department may be appealed to the City of Boston Board of Appeals within 45 days from the date of the determination (the date the permit was issued). For more detailed information see Section 8 of Chapter 665 of the Acts of 1956.
- Where can I get more information regarding the specific provisions
contained in the Boston Zoning Code and the Massachusetts State
