Permit to Demolish Structure

- TERMINATION OF UTILITY SERVICE NOTICE FROM
- Boston Gas

- Verizon
- Cablevision
- PERMIT FROM BOSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT
- A LETTER OR COPY OF A BILL FROM AN EXTERMINATION CONTRACTOR
- BONDING REQUIREMENT
- There is a bonding requirement for demolitions.
- A bond, irrevocable letter of credit or certified check must be made out to the City of Boston and must be equal to the total dollar value of the job as reflected on the building permit application.
- PERMIT ISSUANCE
- The permit and the synopsis is forwarded to the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Commissioner of Buildings. Once the Administrative Assistant signs the application, it is forwarded to the Assistant Commissioner of Buildings for his review and signature.
- The application is then forwarded to Planning and Zoning where an inspector reviews the application.
- This process takes approximately 1-2 days from the date the application is submitted provided that all information is complete.
