Summary
An unpaid internship with our Bureau of Investigative Services is available for a Graduate student. The intern will be assigned to work on a high priority assessment project for up to 8 hours per week, for a full semester, to conduct a work load analysis and subsequent report.
Job Description
Responsibilities will include gathering information and data; working with ORD and ISG to conduct an analysis of the current internal workload data; interviewing key sworn personnel in selected units to gather additional information regarding workload, need, recommendations and other pertinent information; researching best practices in other police departments; present findings in a final written report.
Qualifications
The Graduate intern will need to possess the following skills: experience convening and staffing planning meetings; experience and understand of basic research skills and terminology; good data collection and analysis skills; excellent writing and communications skills and excellent project management skills; including the development of project management and planning tools; self starter, highly motivate; good interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others and to feel comfortable asking questions; comfortable working with data from multiple sources and understanding its parameters. Applicants will be required to submit to a CORI, background and drug test.
