No Food Truck is allowed more than one shift at City Hall Plaza
No Food Truck is allowed more than three lunch shifts at the same site
Prime site shifts are re-lotteried every year: Food Trucks are not guaranteed a Prime site shift for more than one Food Truck vending year
If a Vendor wants an occupied slot on a non-prime site, s/he must wait for the current occupant to give up the shift. Non-prime site shifts will be re-lotteried every three years; as such, the occupant of a non-prime site may renew his or her site license for that shift for up to three years. Non-prime sites will be re-lotteried in the 2015 Live Lottery.
In addition to the current prime sites, any new sites are categorized as Prime for their first year.
Site Licenses take 3-5 business days to be created. The administrative fee for a new Site License is $20. They can be picked up in the Department of Public Works – City Hall Room 714. Please call (617) 635-4900 to make sure your permit/license is ready before you arrive.
Info Session for New Vendors
The Office of Food Initiatives will be hosting info sessions for new vendors in May, August, and November in the Boston City Hall in the BRA Boardroom (9th Floor) starting at 4:00 PM. We will provide a thorough overview of the Mobile Food Truck Program and provide an opportunity for asking specific questions.
If you are considering a food truck business and have questions about the permitting and licensing process, please RSVP with your name and contact information to the Mobile Food Truck Coordinator, in the Office of Food Initiatives.
