Special Operations Command
 
The Special Operations Command was established in 2001. Its mission is to establishing, conducting, specifying and recommending training, staffing, deployment and equipment for the Boston Fire Department in all areas of rescue services. Those rescue services include Technical Rescue (High Angle Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Trench Collapse Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, and Tunnel Rescue), CBRNE/Hazardous Materials and Decontamination operations as well as Dive Team and Marine Unit operations.

SOC also provides technical assistance for the following listed operations:
