In celebration of Fair Housing Month, the Boston Fair Housing Commission is holding a Fair Housing Poster Contest from January 1st- April 2nd.

Contest Information:

  • Poster must be 18 inches x 14 inches and must depict the contest theme: "One Boston, a Hub of Diversity".

  • Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners in each school level (elementary, middle, and high school).

  • Winners will celebrate with Mayor Martin J. Walsh on April 22, 2014.

  • The contest is open to all students that live in the City of Boston grades 1-12.

  • All entries must be submitted online starting March 3, ending March 27, 2014.

  • The online voting period is from March 28 until April 12.

About the Fair Housing Act

The Fair Housing Act was signed on April 11, 1968 which makes April Fair Housing Month.

The Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to discriminate in housing based on race, color, religion, marital status, military status, disability, children, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or source of income.
