Air Pollution Control Commission
The Boston Air Pollution Control Commission (APCC) protects air quality in the City of Boston. Its programs address:
- Air Pollution, including dust from construction sites, smoke from industrial sites, and exhaust from idling vehicles
- Parking facilities in downtown Boston, South Boston, and East Boston
- Abrasive Blasting
- Noise from construction sites, ventilation equipment, and other sources
APCC hearings occur approximately every three months. The APCC comprises five commissioners, two serving ex officio and three appointed by the Mayor. The current commissioners are:
- Mr. Thomas Tinlin, Commissioner of Transportation, chair
- Mr. John Shea, Boston Public Health Commission
- Ms. Virginia Tisei
- Mr. Bart Mitchell
- Mr. Marty Nee
