Field Support

Field Support provides technical and analytical expertise as well as professional leadership to assist Boston EMS in fulfilling its mission. This diverse division is made up of both uniformed and civilian staff and includes communication engineers, analysts, and policy experts.

Technical Services

The technical services team is responsible for the planning, implementation, management and maintenance of technical solutions, including voice and data systems, computer networks, software programs, and records management.

Policy and Planning & Data Analysis

Policy and data analysis staff members are involved with evaluating Boston EMS performance and developing strategies to improve service delivery.

Professional Standards

Professional Standards staff is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant State and Federal regulations. The team monitors compliance with Department Rules and Regulations, conducts inspections of all Department vehicles and equipment, and is involved with a variety of medical-legal matters. Professional Standards is also responsible for responding to customer feedback including issuing commendations to EMTs and Paramedics who provide exceptional service as well as investigating all patient complaints.
