ZUMIX Radio 1630 AM - "Boston Seniors Count"


Weekly radio broadcast hosted by Elderly Commission staff members who present guests and topics of interest to seniors in their 50's to 100's+. Heard each week on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. on ZUMIX Radio 1630 AM and on Sundays at 7:30 AM on WJIB 740 AM. For more information, call 617-635-4366.

Community Events

The Elderly Commission offers the senior citizens of Boston an array of events each year. Whether it's the Senior First Night Celebration, Golden Wedding Anniversary Party, Halloween or Grandparents celebrations, the staff of the Elderly Commission is involved in over one hundred wonderful occasions for seniors to get together. Birthday, Retirement or Other Special Occasions Greetings Would you like to receive or have a card sent to a special relative or friend from the Mayor of Boston on a special occasion? Each year the Mayor sends out hundreds of certificates and/or greeting cards honoring Boston residents on a milestone occasion.   • Prescription Advantage Mailing Error

    Recently a batch of Prescription Advantage approval letters that was sent out was largely incorrect.   Some members received a letter that had their address on it, but it may have had another member's name, PA ID number, membership category and benefit information (copay amounts, etc.).  There was no other personal information such as Medicare ID number or Social Security number.
