Boston Build Home
The Boston Build Home Program offers first-time homebuyers vacant buildable lots throughout Boston at reduced costs and provides technical assistance to help them build single- and two-family homes in accordance with DND's design standards.
You are encouraged to apply if you are:
- A first-time homebuyer who can obtain construction financing to build a DND model home design.
- Able to obtain preliminary construction bids;
- A graduate of a certified homebuying class.

Who can afford this program?
Based on a number of cost assumptions, households earning approximately $72,000 should be able to afford this program. However previous applicants earning less than this have been successful. If you can show us how you can afford this program, your application will be considered
DND helps by providing
- Land cost reduced to $1,000 a site.
- Model House Designs and Specifications
- Builder Resource Directory
- Mandatory Applicant Conference
- "How-To" Workshops for selected Applications
- Ongoing Technical Assistance
- Assistance with permitting process
- Selected applicants will agree to an owner occupancy requirement and a maximum resale price restriction of 5% compounded annually for ten years.
- Attend one of the Applicants Conferences held during the advertisement period
- If selected, attend the Builder Workshops.
