Neighborhood Home Center
General Purpose
The Neighborhood Home Center (NHC) is DNDs new program to increase the amount of information available to Boston residents about DND homeownership programs. The program's key feature is a 15-passenger van formerly used as a senior shuttle and currently "wrapped" with a design that includes portrayals of Bostons two- and three-family homes. The Boston Home Center logo and 635-HOME contact number are prominently displayed on all four sides of the van. The DND web address: www.cityofboston.gov/dnd is located on the sides and back of the van.
The van will be used primarily as a public symbol of DNDs efforts to reach out to the neighborhoods and for transportation of materials and supplies needed to set up "shop" at events and meetings throughout the city.
For what types of events would the Neighborhood Home Center be useful?
To arrange for a knowledgeable Home Center staff person to attend a neighborhood meeting or other appropriate gathering to speak about DND Homebuyer and Homeowners programs, contact the Boston Home Center at 617-635-HOME (4663). Presentations and an informational table be scheduled for the following groups and events:
- Neighborhood associations
- Neighborhood and ethnic festivals
- Non-profit sponsored homebuying classes and information fairs
- Churches/Religious organizations
- Realtors
- Employee groups
- Senior and community centers
