Mid-Dorchester Action Plan

Announced by Mayor Menino in the summer of 2008, the Mid-Dorchester Action Plan is a joint planning initiative of the Department of Neighborhood Development (DND) and the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), designed to coordinate the strategic disposition of public property located around the Dorchester neighborhoods of Four Corners, Bowdoin-Geneva, and Codman Square. The City of Boston currently owns as many as 270 vacant properties, totaling over 1.2 million square feet, in and around these particular areas. Read more »

Business District Conditions and Market Assessment
The following reports, which were compiled in the spring of 2009, examine the existing market and business conditions within the three study areas. 

Phase I Development Guidelines
Based on these reports, as well as a series of community meetings and visioning exercises, the City has created development guidelines for certain properties, designed to provide a set of criteria for interested developers or stakeholders to follow throughout the process.
