Continuum of Care
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awards Homeless Assistance Program funding through what is known as the Continuum of Care (CoC) for a community. A CoC is a regional or local planning body that coordinates housing and services funding for homeless families and individuals, including outreach, intake and assessment, emergency shelter, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing. The Boston CoC is coordinated by the Department of Neighborhood Development Supportive Housing Division with direction from the CoC Board known as the Boston CoC Leadership Council.
