All parties must first apply in person for a certificate of marriage at the Registry Division located on the second floor of Boston City Hall prior to making an appointment for a wedding ceremony. There is a 3 day waiting period after submitting your application.

Wedding Ceremonies take place at City Hall in Room 601 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. You may contact the Office of the City Clerk to schedule an appointment with the Justice of the Peace who will perform your wedding ceremony.

If one of the parties does not speak English, you have the option to bring someone with you who can translate the wedding ceremony. Prior to your appointment, you may also inform our office if there is a need for an interpreter and arrangements can be made to have an interpreter available to translate the wedding ceremony at no additional cost.
$60.00 wedding ceremony fee (cash only)
$15.00 service fee (cash only)
$25.00 late fee (if applicable, cash only)
Please Note: Effective June 18, 2012, the fee to perform the wedding ceremony is $60.00 plus a $15.00 City service fee for a total of $75.00. If you arrive late for your scheduled appointment, there will be an additional $25.00 late fee assessed.
