Announcing the Neighborhood Innovation District Committee

This September, Mayor Martin J. Walsh launched the Neighborhood Innovation District Committee. This committee will work to expand innovation and entrepreneurship in the City of Boston by identifying policies, practices, and infrastructure improvements to support the development of innovation districts throughout the City.

In addition to ensuring all residents have an opportunity to be a part of the modern economy, this committee will provide review and make suggestions for an inclusive economic agenda on innovation for the City, and lay the groundwork to pilot an innovation district embedded within a neighborhood.

The committee will be hosting a number of steering committee and working subcommittee meetings throughout the City of Boston. Furthermore, committee members and staff will also be hosting a series of listening tours in the neighborhoods to encourage more participation and input.  All members of the public are welcomed and encouraged to attend any of the listening tour meetings to provide their thoughts, comments, questions, and insights on what neighborhood innovation districts should look like in the City of Boston.
