WriteBoston currently works with nine partner schools to bring more writing support to in-school and
out-of-school forums. Our schools are nine of Boston's exciting small schools dedicated to personalizing instruction
for students and fostering professionalism among teachers.
In each of our partner schools, WriteBoston Writing Coaches work with clusters of English Language Arts and content
area teachers to design curriculum, create innovative teaching methods, and look at student work more thoughtfully.
In addition to writing instruction and evaluation, WriteBoston builds a broader community of writers by linking
external resources such as authors and area businesses, publishing student work, and developing authentic, writing-based
activities like journalism internships, e-pal program, summer writing institutes, and after school programming.

| Media Communications Technology High School (MCT) |
|
Media Communications Technology High School (MCT), with a student body under 400 students, is one of
Boston's new "small" schools. The school focuses on media and communications, with courses in publishing,
web design, digital art and more. MCT students broadcast weekly news reports through the Channel One
television network. Using the school's darkroom, students can develop their own photos. Most
significantly, in a small school, the community is a lot closer, especially since the students from
different grades meet once a day to learn from one another.

Parkway Academy of Technology and Health (PATH), also one of Boston's small schools, prepares students
for careers in health sciences and biotechnology. To achieve that goal, the curriculum was designed to
require students to pass 4 years of Math, Science, and Technology. Students have been given laptops, and
teachers are integrating the use of technology into every classroom. To give students a vision of the

| Social Justice Academy |
|
Social Justice Academy (SJA), also one of Boston's small schools, prepares students to be social activists who can identify
problems and have the skills and confidence to solve them. Their approach to education is based on creating a more just and equitable
world. To achieve that goal, the rigorous curriculum was designed to require students to engage in debates, research, analysis, reading,
and writing that address issues including Race, Class, Gender, Sexual Orientation, and Identity. Not only must all seniors complete
a community service project which demonstrates their mastery of skills in research, writing, data analysis, critical thinking and public
speaking, but they must all apply to and be accepted to a college in order to graduate, whether they plan to attend or not.
