The Odyssey Academy

WriteBoston works with three partner schools to bring more writing support to in-school and out-of-school forums. Our three schools, Boston Community Leadership Academy, Monument High School, and Odyssey High School are three of Boston's exciting small schools dedicated to personalizing instruction for students and fostering professionalism among teachers.

In each of our partner schools, WriteBoston Writing Coaches work with clusters of English Language Arts and content area teachers in order to design curriculum, create innovative teaching methods, and look at student work more thoughtfully. In addition to writing instruction and evaluation, WriteBoston builds a broader community of writers by linking external resources such as authors and area businesses, publishing student work, and developing authentic, writing-based activities like journalism internships, e-pal program, summer writing institutes, and after school programming.

The Odyssey Academy at South Boston High School

At Odyssey High School, environmental science concepts are integrated across the curriculum through interdisciplinary projects focusing on the urban environment. These projects connect students with real world applications, introduce educational and career opportunities in the field of environmental science, and teach the importance of citizenry and of serving as stewards for the urban environment.
