The Odyssey Academy

WriteBoston works with three partner schools to bring more writing support to in-school and out-of-school forums. Our three schools, Boston Community Leadership Academy, Monument High School, and Odyssey High School are three of Boston's exciting small schools dedicated to personalizing instruction for students and fostering professionalism among teachers.

In each of our partner schools, WriteBoston Writing Coaches work with clusters of English Language Arts and content area teachers in order to design curriculum, create innovative teaching methods, and look at student work more thoughtfully. In addition to writing instruction and evaluation, WriteBoston builds a broader community of writers by linking external resources such as authors and area businesses, publishing student work, and developing authentic, writing-based activities like journalism internships, e-pal program, summer writing institutes, and after school programming.

Boston Community Leadership Academy

Boston Community Leadership Academy (BCLA) is one of Boston's dynamic pilot schools. The school has a full academic college prep curriculum with an emphasis on community and leadership. BCLA asks its students to investigate and develop mastery of community issues such as homelessness, illiteracy, and teen parenting, and display such scholarship through portfolios and senior exhibitions.
