Mayor Thomas M. Menino Presents :

The Avenue Project

Thank you for your interest in the Avenue Project, a comprehensive effort dedicated to the overall improvement of Dorchester Avenue, one of our city's greatest boulevards. With the multitude of infrastructure projects and issues affecting the street, it was clear that we needed a proactive, concerted plan. In February I called together an interagency team comprising all the related city departments that have a hand in Dorchester Avenue's future. This specialized approach will tap into the expertise of our city agencies as well as the vision and voice of Dorchester's businesses and residents.

The Avenue Project will address four miles of Dorchester Avenue, focusing on issues regarding transportation, neighborhood businesses, neighborhood housing, and streetscapes between Lower Mills and the Andrew T Station.

We invite you to continue to visit our website to hear about updates and future meetings.

Please also use the site to share your concerns, thoughts and ideas. We look forward to a productive, thoughtful process that will contribute to an improved quality of life and to the overall success of the neighborhood. Together we can make a difference on Dorchester Avenue.

Thank You,

Thomas M. Menino

Mayor of Boston
