How TGH Has Changed the Life of the Murray Family
Hello everyone!
My name is Gloria Murray. My daughter Esohe and I completed the Technology Goes Home Program in April. I'm writing to give an update on the wonderful changes happening in our lives.
I recently joined the AmeriCorps Program, which is a one-year volunteer training porogram. I am paid a yearly stipend of $18,000. At the conclusion of my term, I will receive an education award of $4,750. I am a Resident Services Specialist at Urban Edge in Roxbury. I recently returned from an all-expense paid one-week orientation training in Chicago, which was very exciting. I had the opportunity to meet people from across the country. I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
I recently went back to college to complete my education. I am enrolled in a special Master's Degree Program in New Hampshire, where I attend classes one weekend per month for 18 months. I am hoping to earn a degree in Community Economic Development.
I am proud to be setting a positive example for my children and friends on the importance of education and dedication to reaching a goal.
