  About / Technical Feasibility Study
   Background    Excerpts
For each of the streets investigated, the feasibility study produced plans, diagrams, and presentations outlining the following elements:

Urban Design Issues and Opportunities

Addressed elements of the individual street and its immediate surroundings that enhance or detract from creating a welcoming, informative, and engaging street environment.

Subsurface Conditions

Technical review of subsurface conditions that might impact the realm of options available to building above-ground, such as:

• Central Artery Tunnel Project work
• water and sewer lines
• MBTA subway, bus tunnels
• basement areaways
• historic pavers
• utility, cable lines

Integrated Future Vision

Though this task ultimately belongs to unique design teams, the Integrated Future Vision begins to put the various important pieces together. The deliverable is a draft plan outlining potential urban design interventions, subsurface conditions to review, transportation recommendations, and improvements for the pedestrian.
