This collage of real and recent plans, many in various stages of implementation, shows the concentration of interest and effort around the Inner Harbor. Most of these plans and projects include at least 1/3 residential uses, and in many cases more. The Crossroads are shown in orange.
Crossroads are grounds for creative collaboration and investment in a shared vision for the public realm.
These streets are at the heart of much of the new development and major changes underway downtown. The Crossroads sieze the opportunity to look beyond individual sites to see each street as an integrated pedestrian-friendly environment. Crossoads also summons the public and private sectors, residents and business owners, to define, design and complete the system.
Many departments are bound in a joint effort with area stakeholders and the civic community to build this new model for Boston’s streets.
