Anthony De Ritis

Anthony Paul De Ritis is Chair of the Music Department and Director of Digital Media programs at Northeastern University; he is also on the Board of Advisors of Northeastern’s School of Technological Entrepreneurship. He is the founder of the “Online Conservatory” collaboration between the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Northeastern, which has been featured in the New York Times, Newsweek, and Symphony magazine. In April 2006, the BSO posted Online Conservatory documentaries as video and audio podcasts with Apple iTunes; six weeks later, Gramophone magazine announced that over 100,000 downloads had been recorded. Forrester Research has cited the Online Conservatory as a best practice in “integrated marketing.” De Ritis completed his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a researcher at the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies (CNMAT), and did his High Tech MBA at Northeastern.
