Mission Statement

ONEin3 Boston serves the one-third of Boston's population that is between the ages of 20 and 34. The program connects Boston's young adults with resources related to home buying, business development, professional networking, and civic engagement.

Focus Groups

ONEin3 Boston held 19 focus groups, asking young Boston residents what their greatest challenges are, as well as what they love about Boston. Here's what they said:

Boston's Dynamic Workforce captures data about Bostonians between the ages of 20 and 34, viewing the group through a variety of lenses, such as ethnicity, place of birth, sector of employment, gross spending, and several other useful and interesting categories."

Did you know?
•  1 out of every 3 Boston residents is a member of the 20-34 year old age group.
•  Boston has the 2nd largest (33%) concentration of 20-34 year olds of any major city in the country.
•     37% of this group are between the ages of 20-24.
•     34% are between the ages of 25-29.
•     29% are between the ages of 30-34.
32% of the 20-34 year old population are currently enrolled in school.
43% of 20-34 year olds have a Bachelor's degree or higher.
76% of this population did not live in Boston in 1995.
19.6% of 20-34 year olds live in the Allston/Brighton neighborhood.
10.4% live in the Fenway/Kenmore neighborhood.
8.1% live in South Dorchester.
70% of the people in this age group are employed, with 66% of 20-34 year olds working within the City of Boston.
