Mooring Permit Application
 

Per Massachusetts General Law ( City of Boston Code, Chapter 16 Section 48 ) , boats are not allowed to moor or dock in Boston waters without first obtaining a permit from the City. This permit must be displayed on the port side of the boat, near the transom.

NOTE: Online permit applications and fee payments are closed daily from 10:45PM to 12:15AM.

 


To renew or apply for a mooring permit:
  • Complete the online application form (click here) and pay the permit fee by credit card, if applicable.
  • OR
  • Fill out the PDF application form online, (you will be required to pay a permit fee at the time of submission) print a copy and bring it to:
    City of Boston
    Treasury Department, M-38
    One City Hall Plaza
    Boston, MA 02201
