Performance Report

Performance Highlights
  • The Mayor's and Superintendent's agenda for schools is called the Acceleration Agenda. A core component of that agenda is ensuring graduation for all, which entails encouraging all students to stay in school and providing every student with the support he or she needs to succeed. Consequently, BPS closely follows trends in high school dropout rates and school attendance - a frequent early indicator of dropouts. Across all school levels, school attendance is stable or rising.
  • BPS has achieved year over year increases in student achievement across the board. While some of this progress is evidenced in the climbing MCAS test scores, a full list of points of progress can be viewed here.

Boston Maps GIS Data Hub
The GIS Data Hub provides residents and researchers with easier access to a host of useful information. Through this application, residents can see what service issues neighbors have reported in their community; mapmakers can download GIS layers; and anyone can browse through and print out maps from the City's map gallery. Launched with a core set of frequently requested information, the City's MIS Department plans to use this application as a foundation for additional maps and data sets over time.
