Featuring North End Performing Arts Center Thursdays, Christopher Columbus Waterfront ParkIn the past the Waterfront Performing Arts Series has showcased various artistic genres including opera, classical music, ballet, modern dance, musical theater, folk and bluegrass music and swing dance. A film screening will immediately follow each performance. The series takes place in scenic Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park.

Arts on the Arcade offers a diverse range of visual and performing artistic expressions. Currently in its 12th year, Arts on the Arcade evokes a lively and festive European marketplace. Each year, juried selections of visual and crafts artists are given the opportunity to sell handmade crafts and artwork covering many different styles from jewelry to leather goods.

An evolution of the Peace Hip Hop Festival, the Boston Music Festival offers a contemporary view of the urban music scene in and around Boston celebrating the best of Hip-Hop, R & B, Funk and Soul. The mission of the Boston Urban Music Festival is to lend a voice to local artists outside the mainstream by providing them with an outlet for artistic expression and also feature a nationally known headliner.This year’s headliner is Talib Kweli.

A celebration of Latin Music & Culture, Caliente was launched in 2008 to provide programming for this growing demographic. The event features local music and dance troupes as well as a nationally known headliner Grupo Mania. Partners include IBA, Berklee and the Parks Department.

(ähts): The Boston Arts Festival is designed to launch Boston’s arts season. The free festival is ashowcase of more than 40-juried visual artists who exhibit and sell one-of-a-kind and limited edition works of art including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, fine glasswork, woodwork, mixed media, and photography. The visual arts are complemented by a performing arts & interactive arts program. Past performing arts groups include Boston Ballet, Blue Man Group, Boston Lyric Opera, and larger music groups Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Mean Creak and Gentlemen Hall.
