    Call to Artists: The Boston Arts Festival

    Calling all artists: be part of the new and improved Boston Arts Festival in the summer of 2015! The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture is proud to announce a call to artists interested in selling their work as part of the Boston Arts Festival. Artists working in any medium are welcome to apply. The festival is held over two days on September 5 and 6 in Columbus Waterfront Park and features a juried exhibition of work by emerging artists, art making demonstrations, live music, and craft and food vendors.

    Calling all artists: be part of the new and improved Boston Arts Festival in the summer of 2015!The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture is proud to announce a call to artists interested in selling their work as part of the Boston Arts Festival. Artists working in any medium are welcome to apply. The festival is held over two days on September 5 + 6 in Columbus Waterfront Park and features a juried exhibition of work by emerging artists, art making demonstrations, live music, and craft and food vendors.

    Eligibility

    ·        Artists must participate in both days of the festival.

    ·        Preference will be given to artists from the greater Boston area.

    ·        The festival reserves the right to reject any work not original to the submitting artist.

    ·        There will be a $125 fee for participating artists.

     

    Installation Guidelines

    ·        Each artist will be supplied with a 10' x 9' covered space, including 1 table and 2 chairs. Any additional display equipment is the responsibility of the artist.

    ·        Artists are responsible for transporting, installing and displaying their work; however, assistance is provided for moving work to and from the curb to the artist's space.

    ·        The festival will provide security from set-up to move-out each day of the festival.

    ·        Artists generally choose to remove their artwork overnight and set-up each day of the festival as security and protection from inclement weather cannot be guaranteed for work left overnight.

    ·        Artists exhibit and sell their work at their own risk.

    ·        The Mayor's Office of Arts + Culture is not responsible for damage, theft, or loss.

     

    Timeline

    ·        May 31: Deadline to submit application, including images and a brief statement of interest. All submissions must be made through theonline application.

    ·        June 8-12: Jury meets

    ·        June 26: Artists will be notified

    ·        July 10: Contracts due from accepted artists
