Pet Adoption
Adopting a pet is a wonderful experience and a little bit of forethought and planning can help you choose the pet that is right for you. Before you plan to adopt it is important to examine yourself and your household. Our kennel has many adorable stray pets and pets that were left unclaimed by their owners and are currently seeking responsible owners.

NOTE: Please go to www.petfinder.com for multiple photos of each animal.

  1. Are you ready to adopt a pet?- includes the truth about puppy mills.

  2. Adopt Us! - pets that are currently up for adoption at the City of Boston Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.

  3. Our Happy Endings- the stories of pets that have found new homes.

  4. Adoption F.A.Q.'s- answers to your adoption questions.
Most of the animals up for adoption were found as strays. They have all waited the mandatory 7 days to allow their owners to look for them and were sadly never claimed. Some of them have been surrendered by their owners for various reasons. Each animal has his or her own unique personality. We do our best to describe their personalities but highly suggest coming into the shelter to spend some quality time with your prospective pet.

Need more information about a particular animal?

Please call the shelter for a quicker response. E-mail is only checked Monday-Thursday and you may get a delayed response. We wouldn't want you to miss out on the perfect animal you've been waiting patiently for so please call us as soon as you see an animal you would like to meet.

Do you have an online adoption application?

The adoption application is not available online. You must come to the shelter to meet the animal before completing an application. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis for those who live far.

Keep checking this site for new pets and please spread the word about our facility and website.

It is unfortunate, but we always have homeless animals (mutts and purebreds) in need of new homes and families.

You may be saving a life by adopting a homeless pet!
