Mission and Goals

Mission
To provide resources and quality service to entrepreneurs, businesses, and neighborhood commercial districts, in order to support business growth, job creation, and to play a vital role in local communities and the City of Boston’s economy.

Goals
To provide one-to-one guidance and technical resources in a timely and responsive fashion for establishing, expanding, and maintaining healthy business in Boston.

To work closely with the private sector and other City departments to strategically apply financial resources and incentives to develop economically viable commercial enterprises.

To assist in the revitalization and management of healthy business districts and commercial zones.

To develop and implement strategic business attraction and retention activities by promoting Boston and its neighborhoods as desirable business locations.

To build capacity in community-based organizations through grants for facilities and special events.
