Mayor cuts ribbon for 700 Harrison Avenue
On Wednesday, June 11th, Mayor Thomas M. Menino joined developer Mitchell Properties, community organizations, City officials, and neighborhood residents, at a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the formal opening of the Residences at 700 Harrison in the South End. The new six-story, 84-unit condominium development now occupies a formerly vacant parcel on Harrison Avenue that was once owned by the Department of Neighborhood Development (DND).  700 Harrison features a new Spanish tapas restaurant and gourmet specialty shop, a community garden, and two levels of underground parking. The project also received  $1,250,000 from DND and $750,000 from the City’s Neighborhood Housing Trust, among other funding sources.
